Born and raised in Prince Albert, Dr. Janzen practiced dentistry for 40 years and is now enjoying his retirement. Even so, he still feels dentistry in his bones and you might occasionally find him hanging out with the team at the office! He truly believes that good oral health is essential to overall health, and he enjoyed being part of improving his patients’ confidence and well-being. Dr. Janzen decided to become a dentist because he wanted to be involved in a career where learning never stops and he would get to interact with great people every day. That certainly describes dentistry! There are constant advancements in both techniques and technology, and every day allowed him to make a new friend/patient. Looking back over the decades of helping people smile, he couldn’t be happier with his decision.
After receiving his dental degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985, Dr. Janzen went on to pursue continuing education in a wide variety of dental disciplines. He studied functional orthodontics (particularly Invisalign), myofunctional orthodontics, as well as endodontics with the renowned Dr. Steve Buchanan. He’s also undergone training for dental implants from both Nobel BioCare and Straumann, leaders in implant technology and materials.
Constantly seeking excellence in dentistry, Dr. Janzen is a graduate of the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle. He also maintained active memberships in a number of professional organizations over the years, including the Saskatchewan Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the International Association of Orthodontics, and the International Team for Implantology.
Dr. Janzen is married and likes to spend most of his free time with his wife Carol, their three sons, and their dog. As a fan of the outdoors, you’ll find him enjoying most sports like cycling, skiing, hiking, and fishing from his trout pond at his house. Volunteer hours are spent working with his church and numerous community organizations.
