Frequently Asked Questions

In our experience, the more a patient knows, the better they’re able to take care of their teeth, which is why our team is always happy to answer our patients’ questions. Below, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most popular questions we hear every day, so this is a great place to start if you’re looking to bolster your dental knowledge. If there is anything else you’d like to ask us that we haven’t covered here, feel free to give us a call any time!

How often should I go to the dentist?

This answer will be different for every person based on their needs, but on average, we recommend that someone should attend at least two checkup and cleaning appointments each year. This allows our team to catch and treat minor problems as early as possible, plus regular dental cleanings can help stop cavities and gum disease from developing in the first place!

Do you accept children?

Yes! We’re happy to treat smiles of all ages in Prince Albert. From toddlers to teenagers and everyone in between, our warm and friendly office is able to provide everything a growing smile needs to look and feel its best throughout every stage of development.

What should I do if I have a toothache?

If you’re feeling any kind of dental pain, you should first try cleaning around the tooth, as a minor toothache could be the result of something just being stuck between the teeth. If this doesn’t help, or if the pain is really bad, go ahead and give our office a call. We’ll be able to fix the problem right away, and you can take an OTC medication to provide temporary relief before we’re able to see you.

My gums bleed every time I clean my teeth. Should I be worried?

A little oral bleeding is completely normal if you’ve recently started flossing, but it could also be a sign that you’re brushing/flossing a little too hard. Try cleaning your teeth with a lighter touch for a few days and see if this helps. If the bleeding continues, then you may actually have an infection called periodontal disease, in which case you should give us a call. It will only get worse without professional treatment, but we can take care of it right away to keep your smile safe.

I just want my smile to look better…can you help with that?

Yes! We have an entire collection of treatments that are specifically dedicated to improving the appearance of the smile. With cosmetic dentistry, we can whiten your teeth, fix chips and cracks, and even straighten crooked teeth to give you a smile that always fills you with confidence. Give us a call today to learn which treatments might be best for you.

Is there a way to straighten my teeth without getting metal braces?

Yes! With Invisalign, a patient just has to wear a series of clear plastic aligners to fix crooked, crowded, and gapped teeth. The aligners themselves are so discreet-looking that no one will notice you’re using Invisalign unless you tell them, and you can even take them off whenever it’s time to eat or brush. For most patients, it only takes Invisalign 12-18 months to give them the beautifully straight smile they’ve always wanted.

Do you accept emergency patients?

Yes. If you or a family member are dealing with dental pain because of a toothache or physical trauma, go ahead and give our office a call. Our team will give you first-aid tips over the phone, and if necessary, we can schedule a same-day appointment to take care of your problem as soon as possible.
