Meet Dr. Eduardo Tovar, the newest addition to our team here at Legacy Dental! Originally from Merida, Venezuela, Dr. Tovar earned his DMD degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and to date, he has earned his NDEB certification, CBCT certification, Invisalign certification, and CEREC certification.
We’re thrilled to have him on our team not just because of the increased capacity and additional services he offers, but also because he believes in our philosophy of making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives by restoring their confidence in their smiles. The guiding philosophy of our practice is that the health of the teeth and gums directly affects the whole body, and this is something that Dr. Tovar wholeheartedly believes in. Whenever he recommends a procedure or talks about your treatment plan, you can trust that he’s not just considering your oral health, but your overall health.
Of course, because each patient is unique, he also puts in the effort to completely personalize his approach based on the needs and wants of the individual in the chair. He’s always happy to listen so he can truly understand where a patient is coming from and answer any questions they might have so they always know what to expect.

Why Dr. Tovar Became a Dentist
When asked why he decided to pursue dentistry, Dr. Tovar shared this brief story…
“I grew up in South America, where access to health care is very limited to non-existent in certain areas or to a large demographic of the population. When I moved to Canada, I was deeply moved every time I saw dental brigades making a difference and changing lives for underprivileged communities. During my high school years, I wanted to follow a career that would give me the opportunity to make an impact in communities like I had observed in my home country.”
